WYVERN SYNOPSIS - The small Alaskan town of Beaver Mills is located just north of the Arctic Circle, meaning that the sun doesn't set during the summer solstice. As the town prepares for its annual celebretion of this event, a wyvern, awakened from its prison of ice by the melting of the ice caps, appears, attacking the town's residents. It continues its bloody rampage as the humans is town deseperately try to escape. Eventually, the townfolk find that the creature has laid a nest of eggs. The Wyvern's reign of terror is finally ended when Jake runs it off a cliff with his new semi-truck.
The film presents its own mythology surrounding the creature. According to Haas, the Wyvern is an ancient beast from Norwegian mythology. Haas further states that the Wyvern was the son of Hel, the goddess of dead, who went on a rampage and bit Odin, causing the king of the Norwegian gods to imprison it in ice far to the north.

O filme apresenta a sua versão da mitologia que envolve uma estranha criature, o Wyvern, que segundo a mitologia norueguesa é uma besta antiga. Segundo a histórias antigas Wyvern era filho de Hel, a deusa da morte, que se envolveu em confrontos com Odin, o que levou a este rei dos deuses noruegueses a aprisioná-la no gelo.
